Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Moonshift (“we”) collects through this website and the Moonshift app, how we use it and the choices you have. Questions: support@getmoonshift.com.

What stays on your computer

The Moonshift app stores the following on your own computer, not on our servers: your profile and resume, the answers you save, your application history, your settings, and the Chrome profile Moonshift uses, including your job site logins and cookies.

What we collect

  • Early access requests. The details you enter in the form: name, email, the roles you want, your location, computer type, job sites, search stage, how you heard about us, your LinkedIn profile link and any notes.
  • License information. Your name, email, plan, license key and payment status. When the app checks your license (about twice a day), it sends your license key, an identifier for your computer and the app version.
  • Messages. Emails you send us and our replies.
  • Payments. When paid plans open, payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.

Answering application questions

When an application asks a question your profile and saved answers do not cover, the app sends that question, with the relevant parts of your profile and resume, to Google’s Gemini service to draft an answer. Depending on how your app is set up, this goes directly from your computer to Google, or through our server, which passes it on and keeps only a count of requests per license per day, not the content. Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to that processing.

How we use your information

  • To review access requests and send your license key
  • To check that a license is valid and to provide support
  • To email you about your account and, if you agreed, product updates
  • To keep records we are required to keep, such as for taxes

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Services we use

  • Google (Sheets, Apps Script and Gmail) to store access requests and licenses and to send emails, and Gemini as described above
  • Cloudflare to host this website and our server
  • GitHub to host app downloads and updates
  • Google Fonts to load the font on this website, which means your browser contacts Google when you open a page
  • Stripe to process payments, when paid plans open

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser remembers that choice on your own device.

How long we keep it

We keep access requests and license records while you use Moonshift and for as long as needed to meet legal and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

Email support@getmoonshift.com to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe option. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honor them.

Children

Moonshift is meant for adults looking for work and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. For important changes we will also let customers know by email.
